Here's the Piper Comanche 260B complete interior refurb. The basic upholstery has been replaced before with exception of the headliner.

After the seats, panels, and carpet are removed, the task of getting all the old original insulation out begins.

One of the biggest tasks was removal of the old glue. The first picture here shows the overhead turtle shell that's located behind the headliner just over the pilot's seat. The glue was stuck so hard here that some of the headliner wouldn't come off. The parts that did left long strands of glue hanging from overhead. The next pictures show what it was like after cleaning and installation.

Next, we begin the installation of sound dampening materials. For this project, I'm doing a double insulation using extra high density glued right to the skin of the airplane to absorb the sound waves. Next, I follow that with a sound insulation blanket to fill the void between the high density sound proofing and the wall panel. This should give us the maximum materials for these areas.

Interior upholstery fabrication begins here using special confor-foam cushioning that is our exclusive process. Contoured cushioning is fabricated from chemicals in our molds for solid-core seats. The frames are cleaned down and refinished with Jet-Flex and new upholstery fabricated from fine European leathers. The home made seat back extensions are removed and replaced with headrests.

The interior window trim, air vents, and other small items are all cleaned, repaired as necessary, and refinished with Jet-Flex. The seat belts are now re-webbed with new certifications. Seat belt protectors are used to help prolong the life of the belts by preventing excess fraying.

Lots and lots of trim work and minor details finish this one out. Leather assist handles, leather wind lacing and other minor details all add up to the completion.

And here we have it. I like the straight forward business design of this one. The grey interior is a soft, cool color that will compliment most any exterior. The banker's grey carpeting wears well, looks nice, and is complimented by custom floor mats.
